Understanding the Weight Feature
The Weight feature in Spin The Wheel Random Picker lets you control the size and probability of individual slices on your wheel. This gives you more flexibility when certain options need a higher or lower chance of being selected.
By default, all slices are equal. When Weight is enabled, you can fine-tune how often each option appears during a spin.
What Does the Weight Feature Do?
The Weight feature adjusts the visual size of a slice, which directly affects its probability of being selected.
- Larger slice = higher chance of being selected
- Smaller slice = lower chance of being selected
This is useful when you want weighted outcomes instead of perfectly equal randomness.
When Should You Use Weight?
The Weight feature is ideal for:
- Games with rare or bonus outcomes
- Classroom activities with priority picks
- Giveaways with tiered prizes
- Simulating probability-based decisions
- Custom game mechanics
How to Use the Weight Feature
Follow these steps to adjust slice weights:
- Enable the Weight feature by clicking the button at the bottom of the app.
- Select the slice you want to adjust.
- Use the slider to increase or decrease the slice size.
- Click the DONE button to apply your changes.
Once enabled, the wheel automatically recalculates slice proportions while keeping the spin result fair and unbiased.
Important Notes About Weight
- Weight changes probability, not randomness β spins are still random.
- You can mix weighted and non-weighted slices on the same wheel.
- Weight settings are saved automatically with your wheel.
- Disable Weight at any time to restore equal slice sizes.
Weight vs Normal Equal Slices
- Equal slices: Every option has the same chance.
- Weighted slices: Some options are more or less likely.
Both approaches are useful β the Weight feature simply gives you more control.
